Hi, I’m Jen! Vancouver Island Artist Behind Paper Cuts
I’m a Vancouver Island artist and graphic designer, and I’ve spent the last few years turning my playful illustrations into everyday treasures.
What started as a small table at local markets around South Vancouver Island has grown into a collection of products that now find their way into homes, shops, and gifts all over the island.
My Inspiration
I love creating colourful, lighthearted designs inspired by island life, from curious seals and cheeky seagulls to octopuses, wildflowers, forests, and beaches.
Nature and coastal living are at the heart of my art, and I try to capture the joy and humour of it all in every piece I make.
What I Create
You’ll find my designs on a variety of products, including:
- Greeting cards to make someone smile
- Stickers to brighten up your favourite things
- Prints that bring the West Coast indoors
- Tea towels, bags, and pillowcases that make home life a little more fun
I love exploring different mediums, so my art can be enjoyed in many ways, whether it’s framed on your wall, shared via mail, or part of your everyday routine.
Every so often, you’ll also see my husband Steve pop up, helping me out and even some of his own creations. He runs Vancouver Island Bucket List, a local travel and adventure site.
His projects bring a complementary layer of island-inspired products that fit perfectly alongside my art. Together, we love collaborating on ideas that share the playful, adventurous spirit of Vancouver Island.
Why We Do It
For us, creating is about sharing joy and celebrating Vancouver Island life. Whether it’s a print, a sticker, or a tea towel, everything here is designed with fun in mind, something that sparks conversation, lifts spirits, and connects you to the island in a creative way.
Thanks for supporting our work and for helping Paper Cuts grow. We can’t wait to keep creating and sharing more with you!
